Celebrating the passing of time is something we’re passionate about and what better time of year to celebrate in the UAE than the end of summer and the return of cooler weather

Fall into autumn colours
by AHMED SEDDIQI & SONS
Autumn. It’s a whole vibe, isn’t it just? And whilst the potential to admire nature’s most magnificent plumage is undeniably a little limited here in our desert home, we at Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons believe that there is always opportunity to inject a little colour-based joy into our lives. So – grab hold of that pumpkin spiced latte and have a look at these timepieces that evoke the gold, umber and red of the finest time of year. Who needs deciduous trees, anyway.
Breitling Endurance Pro
If you’re going to be serious about a bright pop of colour then you certainly won’t go far wrong with this sporty chronograph that’s so light and ultra-scratch resistant that you may find yourself wearing it almost incessantly. Breitling’s high-precision watch is billed as the ultimate athleisure timepiece and in fact was worn by UAE Team Emirates cyclist Tadej Pogačar in his victorious Tour de France performance. The Breitlight case is forged from a proprietary material that’s 3.3 times lighter than titanium, while its COSC-certified chronograph offers impressive split-seconds timekeeping.
Anonimo Militare Alpini
There’s something alluring about a bronze watch. The patina changes gently over time, slowly revealing subtle nuances of colour on the surface – unlike the loftier precious metals, bronze revels in its impermanence. Plus, it’s so personal – no two watches will age and change in exactly the same way; just as no two leaves are exactly alike. Established in 1997, Aninimo has been creating bronze watches since before bronze had its ‘moment’ and there’s definitely something charming and timeless about the personality of this big, bold watch. The warmth – it’s a whopper at 43.4mm – extends to the dial, with its subtle camouflage guilloché pattern.
Dior La D de Dior
While the prospect of wrapping oneself up against a crisp autumnal breeze in – what else – a Dior autumn coat is best left to a whimsical mind’s eye, there’s nothing vague or ephemeral about this arresting red wristwatch that draws the eye in like a magnet. Bright red is nature’s most forceful colour, and this lacquered red dial, encircled by a cavalcade of diamonds along its rose-gold bezel, certainly knows how to bring a seasonal statement to your wrist. The Milanese bracelet, with its delicately worked lattice of metal mesh, evokes the ribbons and lacework that are a pillar of the couture heritage of the Parisian maison, a perfect ode to this poetic season.
Oris Big Crown ProPilot Day Date TLP Limited Edition
There’s something comforting about khaki, isn’t there? It goes with everything and is instantly associated with nature and protection. In the case of Oris, it is resplendent on both the dial and the fabric ‘ventile’ strap of this horological ode to bygone aviation. Instantly nostalgic yet contemporary, the 44mm steel watch features a distinctive oversized crown, as once utilised by airmen wearing gloves. The metal is coated with a gunmetal-grey PVD, further lending it a robust, tool watch aesthetic and while you may not fly whilst wearing it, your autumnal style credentials certainly will.
